Slip and Slide into Birthday Number 9!

I love that it's so easy to throw a successful surprise party for an innocent, forgetful, and otherwise preoccupied little boy! He was SO SURPRISED! He actually asked for a surprise party a month ago, and then was totally shocked when we actually had one for him!!  This party was at the American Club in Jakarta.

When Logan walked up, everyone popped out from behind a curtain and yelled, "Surprise!" Despite asking me for a surprise party a month ago, Logan was in complete shock when he arrived, and he
beamed from head to toe!
Logan was so excited to see his friends and he kept saying "I can't believe
I FORGOT it was my birthday"
After everyone gave Logan big hugs, he was so excited he jumped in the pool with his crocs on (luckily, he was already in his bathing suit!).

For a long time after the surprise, Logan was
so happy he walked around hugging everything!

Then the kids played some party games, including tug-of-war. . . .

 . . . twin balloon-buddie races
And a watermelon eating contest!

Balancing act: mom Debbie has a beer in one hand, and holding her daughter's hair in the other hand.

Logan won this competition, twice! He entered both rounds.
This kid never met a fruit he didn't love!

We even had one tooth come out in the middle of the watermelon-eating competition!!

Then, a waterballoon fight!

And, last but not least, slip and slide . . . . in Jakarta,
they use water, jelly, and soap to make it extra slippery and sloppy.

Then, the kids did some swimming. Here, Joseph does a nice flip
move off the diving board. The judges gave him a 10!

Logan loved his birthday present from Mommy and Daddy: a Wii video game!!
Time to make a wish . . . .
The nicest part of the day was that Logan repeatedly said to us:
"This is the best birthday party EVER!!"
