During our December break from school, in addition to going to Singapore, we also joined another family on a short visit to Jogyakarta, which has been described as: "A lush tropical landscape dotted with hundreds of archeological temples, including two UNESCO world heritage sites, Borobudur and Prambanan, this is a destination that leave you spellbound. The grandeur and complexity of the temples has to be seen to be believed and photography struggles to convey the depth." It is also renouned as a center of classical Javenese fine art, such as batik, ballet, drama, music, and puppet shows!

| Our first temple visit was to Prambanan. "Prambanan’s status as one of the most extraordinary pieces of South East Asian religious architecture was recognised by a UNESCO in 1991 when it named this complex a World Heritage Site." |

| We also toured the beautiful temple of Borobudur, but it was very very hot and it was raining most of the trip climbing up the Temple. Once we got down, the skies opened up and it poured rain for over an hour. |

| Everywhere we went, people wanted to take our picture, or take pictures with us - especially the kids. I don't knock it though. After all, I take PLENTY of pictures of everyday Indonesians going about their business, right? |

Mount Merapi - the most active volcano in Indonesia, it has erupted regularly since 1548! But,
it does not come out from behind the clouds very often. Today was a very lucky day
for taking its picture!
